INSPIRE YOUR HEART WITH ART DAY

Art is therapeutic. It stimulates introspection, stirs our emotions, and connects us to one another. The origins of “Inspire Your Heart with Art Day” is unknown, but it is celebrated on the last day of January every year. Perhaps it is because, after enduring weeks of early sunsets and cooler temperatures, our minds and hearts could use some invigoration!

Whether it’s dancing or listening to music, painting or visiting a museum, watching a thoughtful film or seeing live theater, take the day to appreciate art with a keen awareness and appreciation. Anyone can make art. You don’t have to be an artist! There is no “good” or “bad” art when you are doing it for fun. Drawing, painting, sculpting, acting, singing, dancing, playing an instrument are all cathartic ways of giving your brain a rest from the thousands of stressful thoughts that constantly buzz in your brain. If you don’t feel comfortable creating art, challenge yourself to visit a museum or gift shop with homemade crafts. Consider the process and passion that went into crafting each piece.
